Kingston FFA shooting team is shooting for lots of scholarships this season. The team consits of male and female students in 8th-12th grade. This is their second year competing in trap, skeet, and sporting clays.

Team members are required to complete the Oklahoma hunter’s safety course and 8 hours of field practice with a coach . Each student provides their own gun. Guns choice is a personal prefrence, and they need to be comfortable shooting it.

Gun Safety is top priority. Chris Mcgowan a shooting coach said “ It’s a sport that everyone must be aware of the seriousness of the safty aspects.” The students are always watching each other to gain techniques. They can learn a lot from watching each other.

Kingston FFA shooting team grew from nine members to 17 members. It’s a growing sport in schools and kingston expects it to continue growing.
